Terms of service

1. What SplitPay is

SplitPay is a software service that lets a merchant split one amount into personal payment links for several participants. Payments are processed by Mollie B.V. on the merchant's own Mollie account. SplitPay does not hold, transfer or advance funds and is not a payment institution.

2. Merchants

  • You must have a valid Mollie account in good standing and comply with Mollie's terms.
  • You are responsible for the products or services participants pay for, for your refund policy and for the shortfall policy you choose per group payment.
  • SplitPay may charge a platform fee per completed payment as agreed in your plan; it is collected through Mollie as an application fee.

3. Participants and organisers

Participants pay a share to the merchant, not to SplitPay. Questions about the booking, cancellations or refunds go to the merchant. Payment links are personal; do not share yours.

4. Non-payment

If a group payment is not completed before its deadline, the outcome depends on the shortfall policy chosen by the merchant: nothing happens, the organiser may pay the remainder, or all paid shares are refunded. SplitPay never advances money or collects debts.

5. Availability and liability

The service is provided as is. SplitPay is not liable for indirect damages, lost bookings or delays caused by payment providers, banks or networks. Liability is limited to the fees paid to SplitPay in the preceding three months.

6. Governing law

Belgian law applies. Disputes go to the courts of the SplitPay operator's registered seat.
